The oxygen tanker going to the hospital overturned in the Civil Lines area late Tuesday after the driver had a nap. However, the tanker was dispatched to the destination within an hour by conducting rescue operations under the supervision of the DCP upon receipt of the incident.
In fact, an oxygen laden tanker was reported to have been overturned in the pit near the Shahdara flyover at 11:30 pm on Tuesday.
When the SHO Ajay Kumar and other policemen arrived on the spot, the tanker driver met on the spot.
The driver said that he was going to another hospital located at Karkari Mor, supplying oxygen to Tirath Ram Hospital but lost control and the tanker overturned due to a nap.
DCP Anto Alphonse also reached the spot as soon as the tanker got information about oxygen for the Covid patients.
The DCP led the tanker out of the pit under his supervision. Also, the company supplying oxygen was informed about the incident.
A tanker from Moolchand Hospital was also dispatched to Karkari diversion to deal with any emergency on behalf of the company.
But within an hour, the Civil Lines Police removed the tanker from the pit and sent it to the hospital.
