Choksi is accused of PNB scam
Choksi and his nephew Nirav Modi are accused of allegedly cheating Punjab National Bank (PNB) with some bank officials to the tune of Rs 13,500 crore. Nirav Modi is currently lodged in a London jail. The CBI is investigating both.
The nephew has already tightened the grip on Nirav Modi
The Enforcement Directorate had seized Mehul Choksi’s assets worth more than Rs 14 crore in the Punjab National Bank scam case sometime back.
In addition, his nephew and crime partner, Nirav Modi has received a major setback from a United Kingdom (UK) court.
The court has denied any concession to Modi. Westminster Court Judge Samuel Gooji clearly stated that there is necessary evidence to convict Nirav. The court also admitted that Nirav Modi conspired to erase the evidence and threaten witnesses.
