India is going to make such a dose of biotech corona vaccine that the entire country’s needs can be met
India Biotech, the first corona vaccine maker in India, has announced an expansion in its production capacity. Releasing a press release on Tuesday (April 20), the company said it will now produce 700 million vaccine doses annually.
The company’s announcement comes at a time when India is facing a second wave of the coronavirus. More than 2.5 million cases are coming to light every day and more than a thousand people are dying. In the last 24 hours, 1761 people have died across the country.
India may need to be fulfilled
If India’s biotech produces 700 million vaccine doses as announced, it will greatly strengthen the covid vaccination program in the country. Significantly, the shortage of vaccine doses to prevent corona infection in the country has been clearly felt. The government also realizes it.
This has led to many important spreads in the recent past. These include decisions such as giving entry of foreign vaccines into India, speeding up the process of their approval.
There was significant news in this regard on Monday (April 19). India Today quoted sources as saying that the Central government has decided to provide a total of Rs 4500 crore to two of the country’s largest vaccine companies to prepare corona vaccine.
3000 crore to Serum Institute of India and Rs 1500 crore to Bharat Biotech. The very next day, today, Bharat Biotech issued a press release asking for a 700 million dose of vaccine.
